About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The Economic Journal of Development Issues (EJDI) is a bi-annual publication of the Department of Economics, Patan Multiple Campus, Tribhuvan University, Lalitpur, Nepal. The journal welcomes empirical research, review articles, theoretical papers on the various aspects of economic studies particularly emphasizing the issues of developing countries. EJDI welcomes contributions from national and international scholars concerned with economies of developing countries and development affairs.

Articles are subject to (double) blind peer review by at least two domain expert academic referees. If space permits, EJDI also welcomes comments or notes on articles published by EJDI. The use of data, their interpretations and opinions expressed in the articles is the sole responsibility of authors guided by well-established academic and ethical norms and rigor. Though scrutinized by editorial teams and expert reviewers during the editorial processes, it does not necessarily reflect the views of the publisher and editors or editorial board.

The journal is published bi-annually. The Editorial Board issues open call for paper bi-annually in its official website: https://www.nepjol.info/index.php/EJDI

Peer Review Process of EJDI

The Editorial Board makes an initial appraisal of each manuscript. If the topic and treatment seem potentially appropriate for the journal, and the quality of the manuscript is deemed sufficient, it is forwarded for the peer review process. In accordance with the comments from the reviewers, the editorial board decides for acceptance, revision, or rejection of the manuscript. All responses will be corresponded through email.

EJDI has a “double-blind” review process; reviewers get article without author information and review comments are also forwarded to authors without disclosing reviewers’ identity. Associate editor or handling editor is the point of contact to both reviewers and authors. The Executive editor/Editor In-Chief makes the decision after getting feedback from reviewers and the handling editor.

EJDI tries its best to minimize editorial and review duration without compromising the rigor. The duration of editorial and review process depends on availability and responsiveness of reviewers, revision time taken by authors. Nevertheless, we try our best to maintain submission to final editorial decision time within three months - delays in obtaining reviews and author’s revision may prolong this process. EJDI strives to improve the quality, relevance, and impact of the contributions through an inclusive and caring peer-review process.
